Social Anxiety

Social anxiety shows up as excessive worry about what your friends or family think of you. It can interfere with making friends, and can inhibit you from speaking up in a group or feeling comfortable at a party. In counseling, the goals for treating social anxiety are to develop more confidence in yourself and reduce concern about other people’s judgment so that you can choose how you want to engage with other people and socialize in a way that is comfortable for you.
